As The Robson continues to take shape, we're excited to introduce the person who will be leading our team and helping bring our vision of mountain kind hospitality to life.
Meet Sebastian Brand, General Manager of The Robson.
Originally from Germany, Sebastian discovered hospitality as a teenager during a high school internship. It didn't take long to realize he'd found his calling. At just 16, he began his culinary apprenticeship, launching a career that would take him through exceptional kitchens, boutique hotels, and hotel openings across Europe before eventually bringing him to Canada.
But it was Jasper that stayed with him.
After spending four years living and working here, he fell in love with the community, the mountains, and the unmistakable spirit of the place. When he heard the Mount Robson Inn was being rebuilt, he knew he wanted to be part of its next chapter.
"It's not just another hotel project," Sebastian says. "The Robson is part of Jasper's story, and being able to help write its next chapter is something very special."
Throughout his career, Sebastian has learned that the best hospitality isn't scripted. It comes from genuinely caring about people and the place they've come to experience. A warm greeting, a thoughtful gesture, someone remembering your name. Those are the moments guests remember long after they leave.
That philosophy is shaping every part of The Robson.
We believe a great mountain stay should help you experience Jasper more deeply. The Robson isn't designed to be the centre of your trip, Jasper is. Our role is to be your basecamp, a welcoming place to return to after a day on the trails, exploring the town, or simply taking in the mountains. We hope every guest leaves feeling more connected, to this place, to the people they travelled with, and to the memories they made along the way.
For Sebastian, that starts with the team.
He believes in creating an environment where people feel supported, excited to come to work, and proud of what they're building together. Because when a team feels at home, guests do too.
When asked what he hopes guests will feel as they walk through our doors, his answer is simple.
"I hope it feels like coming home to an old friend."
As construction continues, we're looking forward to welcoming our first guests and sharing this next chapter with you. Until then, we'll keep introducing the people, stories, and ideas that are bringing The Robson to life.
